About the Role: Service Deli Clerk

As a Service Deli Clerk, you’ll be involved in nearly every aspect of deli food preparation. That includes slicing vegetables, coating ribs with barbecue sauce, mixing ingredients for entrees, assembling take-and-bake pizzas, and operating commercial and rotisserie ovens. You’ll also use an automated wrapping machine to package, weigh, and label products before stocking the display case.

Beyond the prep work, there’s a strong emphasis on food safety, sanitation, and compliance. You’ll follow Costco’s formulas and standards, monitor pull dates and temperatures, complete sanitation checklists, and keep both equipment and the deli area clean. Working safely and maintaining health code standards is a core part of the job every day.

Responsibilities

The Service Deli Clerk role involves a wide range of food preparation, packaging, and cleaning tasks that keep the deli department running smoothly. Staying on top of each responsibility ensures members receive fresh, high-quality deli products every time they shop.

  • Prepare and cook rotisserie chickens, ribs, and entrees using commercial and rotisserie ovens
  • Assemble take-and-bake pizzas, party trays, meals, and salads according to Costco’s formulas and diagrams
  • Slice vegetables for salads, entrees, and garnishes on prepared foods
  • Package, wrap, seal, weigh, and label products using an automated wrapping machine
  • Stock and rotate the display case to maintain freshness and presentation standards
  • Monitor quality and consistency of finished products and comply with health code requirements including temperatures and pull dates
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, workstations, and the deli area, including operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
  • Track inventory by counting product on hand, documenting production on daily forms, and completing time and temperature records
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members at all times

Requirements / Skills
