About the Role: Baker
As a Baker at Costco Ottawa, your primary responsibility is preparing and baking a high volume of bakery products following Costco’s proprietary formulas. You’ll be measuring and combining large quantities of ingredients, adjusting formulas using a calculator when needed, and operating heavy-duty equipment including power mixers, dough rollers, muffin depositors, and crust machines. You’ll also roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries, transfer raw product to raising rooms, and carefully monitor ovens to ensure everything comes out perfectly.
Beyond the baking itself, this role requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation standards. You’ll monitor temperatures, track pull dates, and comply with all relevant health codes. Following department production procedures and maintaining quality consistency across all finished products is central to how the team operates. Providing prompt and courteous member service and lending a hand in other areas of the warehouse when needed are also part of the job.

Responsibilities
Working in Costco’s high-volume bakery means every shift involves hands-on production from start to finish. - Feed dough into automated dough machines as required
- Monitor sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates in compliance with health codes and Costco’s safety and security procedures
- Follow department production standards to maintain quality and consistency across all finished bakery products
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members throughout the shift
- Assist with other bakery duties and warehouse areas as needed
Requirements / Skills
