About the Role: Food Service Assistant – Food Court

As a Food Service Assistant, your day will be varied and active. Responsibilities

Working in Costco’s Food Court means keeping up with a high volume of member orders while maintaining food quality and cleanliness at all times. Every task — from food prep to cash handling to sanitizing equipment — plays an important role in the overall member experience.

  • Prepare hot food items including rolling, shaping, and topping pizzas, operating deep fryers, and steaming hot dogs and buns
  • Process sales transactions by ringing up orders, collecting payment, and making change accurately
  • Take pizza orders from members at the counter and by phone, assembling and presenting completed orders
  • Dispense desserts and beverages such as frozen yogurt, lattes, and smoothies, and maintain dispensing machines
  • Maintain the self-serve pop area, condiment table, and eating area, including bussing and sanitizing tables
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, pans, utensils, and counters on an ongoing basis
  • Pull and stock ingredients and supplies from the warehouse, including storing items in the cooler and freezer
  • Follow health codes including sanitation standards, proper temperatures, product rotation, and expiration date compliance
  • Operate the trash compactor and follow all safety and security procedures

Requirements / Skills

No prior food service experience is required for this role — Costco is open to training the right candidate. What matters most is a reliable attitude, a willingness to work hard, and a commitment to food safety and member service standards.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, though not mandatory
  • Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required by your first day in the position
