About the Role: Material Handler

As a Material Handler at DHL Supply Chain, you’ll operate forklift equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product throughout the facility. Your core responsibility is ensuring that all inbound and outbound products are checked, damage-free, correctly labelled, and matched to customer requirements before they leave the dock.

Beyond operating equipment, you’ll contribute to physical inventory counts, maintain a clean and orderly workspace, inspect equipment daily, and report any discrepancies in stock or shipments. Teamwork, accuracy, and accountability are central to how this role functions day to day.

This full-time position pays $20.75 per hour. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be hands-on throughout each shift — operating equipment, verifying shipments, and keeping the facility running smoothly. Every task ties directly to ensuring that customers receive the right products on time and in perfect condition.

  • Operate forklift equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product throughout the warehouse
  • Load product onto equipment, pallets, or totes for more than 20% of each shift
  • Pick and put-away product for shipment or stock, verifying the exact number and type of items ordered
  • Compare quantity, quality, labelling, and address on outgoing shipments against customer orders to confirm accuracy
  • Inspect inbound and outbound products for damage, infestation, and correct product code dates
  • Monitor and change equipment batteries or LP tanks as needed during the shift
  • Report discrepancies such as non-available products and OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged)
  • Maintain the facility and equipment in a clean, neat, and orderly condition through daily inspections
  • Assist with physical inventories as required

Requirements / Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program required within the first 30 days of employment

  • Experience in a similar material handling role is an asset
  • Ability to physically load product and work actively throughout the shift
