Export Package Handler – UPS – Lachine, QC

About the Role: Export Package Handler

As a Package Handler at UPS Lachine, your primary focus will be on the loading, unloading, sorting, scanning, shipping, and receiving of packages. You’ll be expected to follow UPS package handling methods accurately and efficiently, working with trailers and package cars as part of the nightly export operation. Heavy machinery may also be part of the job depending on task requirements.

This role demands physical stamina and attention to detail, particularly when it comes to reading and memorizing postal codes to ensure accurate sorting. Teamwork and adherence to workplace safety standards are central to how UPS operates, and every handler plays a critical role in maintaining the flow of the facility.

Responsibilities

Every evening, the UPS Lachine export team works together to ensure packages are sorted, loaded, and dispatched accurately. As a Package Handler, your contributions directly impact the speed and reliability of deliveries across the network — a responsibility the team takes seriously.

• Learn and apply UPS-approved package handling methods and procedures
• Load and unload packages into trailers and package cars efficiently and safely
• Scan and sort packages according to postal codes and routing information
• Ship and receive packages as part of the export operation
• Stock packages in designated areas within the warehouse
• Operate heavy machinery as required to complete assigned tasks
• Complete additional tasks as directed in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, dependable, and detail-oriented. You don’t need an extensive résumé to get started here — what matters most is your ability to show up consistently, work safely, and take direction well in a busy environment. Warehouse experience is an asset, though not required.

• Physical fitness: ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) on a regular basis
• Postal code literacy: ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate sorting
• Schedule availability: available to work flexible shifts, up to 5 days per week
• Warehouse experience: prior experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is preferred
• Reliability: ability to work consistently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
