About the Role: Package Handler – Day Sort

As a Package Handler at UPS Lachine, you’ll be on the floor loading, unloading, scanning, sorting, and stocking packages. You may work with heavy machinery and will be expected to follow UPS package handling protocols to keep operations running smoothly and safely. It’s physical work — you’ll be on your feet and moving throughout your shift.

The day sort shift runs Sunday through Thursday, between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with current operations averaging around 3 hours of work per day (typically 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM). UPS may adjust coverage times based on operational needs, so flexibility within that window is important. Overtime kicks in after 5 hours of work.

Benefits and Salary

This position offers a starting hourly rate of $18/hour, with a maximum rate of $30.11/hour achievable through a progression over 48 months (following probation). Responsibilities

As a Package Handler, your day-to-day work keeps UPS’s delivery network running on time. From the moment packages arrive at the facility, you play a hands-on role in making sure they’re handled correctly and move efficiently through the system.

• Load and unload UPS packages into trailers and package cars
• Sort and scan packages accurately to ensure proper routing
• Stock packages in designated areas within the facility
• Learn and apply UPS-approved package handling methods and safety protocols
• Operate heavy machinery as required to support warehouse tasks
• Complete additional tasks as assigned in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Requirements / Skills
