The Senior Brokerage Representative is responsible for applying import/export regulations to accurately classify products and determine eligibility for various regulatory programs tied to international trade. Responsibilities

As a Senior Brokerage Representative, your day-to-day centres on applying your expertise in customs classification and trade compliance to support both clients and internal operations. You’ll use established regulatory tools and frameworks to back up classification decisions and keep client product data organized and up to date. These responsibilities are core to ensuring UPS delivers accurate, compliant customs brokerage services.

  • Classify products using General Rules of Interpretation (GROI), Explanatory Notes, and CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System) to substantiate decisions
  • Lead Country of Origin verification projects by contacting suppliers to confirm correct origin information for client products
  • Manage and organize product databases and classification records using Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Enter product classifications and supporting substantiation into UPS’s proprietary operating system
  • Communicate proactively with clients, including educating them on relevant regulatory procedures and compliance requirements
  • Act as a liaison between UPS and government entities to resolve issues related to customs declarations, shipping restrictions, and tax payments

Requirements / Skills
