About the Role: Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant
As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant, your primary focus is delivering a top-notch experience for Costco members shopping in the major appliances, jewellery, and electronics departments. You’ll answer questions, walk members through product features, and assist them in getting items to their carts. Staying current on the latest tech and appliance trends is part of the job — you’ll read industry publications and explore products hands-on so you’re always ready to speak confidently about what’s on the floor.
Beyond member-facing tasks, you’ll work closely with the Area Manager to communicate about merchandise quantity, pricing, delivery, and promotions. Maintaining merchandising standards, checking product signage accuracy, supporting merchandise moves, and keeping the department clean and organized are all regular parts of the role. You’ll also handle member returns and manage the security lock-up area.

Responsibilities
This role covers a broad mix of member service, product expertise, and floor maintenance. Whether you’re explaining the difference between two televisions or restocking a display, every task contributes to the overall member experience in the department.
- Assist members with questions, product demonstrations, and loading items onto their carts in the electronics, major appliances, and jewellery departments
- Stay informed by reading industry magazines, product reviews, and literature to maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends and product specifications
- Communicate with the Area Manager regarding merchandise quantity, pricing, delivery timelines, and promotional updates
- Maintain displays by setting up, cleaning, facing, and aligning product to meet Costco’s merchandising standards
- Process member returns by checking and approving returned product and verifying the accuracy of product signage and markings
- Support merchandise moves by reviewing stocking lists and working with forklift drivers to keep product levels high on the floor
- Manage the security lock-up area, clear debris from the sales floor, and keep the department swept and tidy
- Support other warehouse areas as needed
Requirements / Skills

- High School Diploma or GED is preferred for this position
