Costco’s Bakery Commissary in Vaughan, Ontario is looking for a Production Line Assistant to join their production team. About the Role: Production Line Assistant

As a Production Line Assistant at the Costco Bakery Commissary, you’ll be directly responsible for maintaining product quality and line safety during daily operations. Your primary function is to perform visual inspections and communicate findings to production line clerks, ensuring that only products meeting quality standards move forward. Beyond inspections, you’ll be involved in daily equipment cleaning following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines and keeping the line environment safe and debris-free at all times.

This role requires a solid understanding of food safety protocols, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and workplace health and safety procedures. You’ll also be expected to transfer products between line areas and lend support to other parts of the department when needed, making flexibility and teamwork key attributes for success in this position.

• Perform visual inspections of products along the production line and inform production line clerks of any items failing inspection
• Clean equipment daily in accordance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) standards
• Maintain a clean and debris-free line at all times to ensure a safe working environment
• Practise and adhere to food safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and health and safety procedures
• Transfer products from one line area to another as required during production
• Assist in other areas of the department and Commissary as needed

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and dependable. You don’t need years of experience — what matters most is your ability to follow established procedures carefully and contribute positively to a team-oriented production environment.

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
• Food Safety Certification: Costco Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required upon hire
• Attention to detail: A sharp eye for product quality and inspection is a strong asset
• Organizational skills: Ability to manage tasks efficiently and keep your workspace orderly
• Experience: No prior experience required for this position
