About the Role: Pharmacist

Responsibilities

Working as a Pharmacist at Costco Vaughan means taking ownership of both clinical and operational responsibilities within the pharmacy. From dispensing and verifying prescriptions to leading health clinics and mentoring students, your contributions directly impact patient care and safety every single shift.

  • Dispense prescription medications and apply appropriate auxiliary labels accurately and efficiently
  • Review prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, including drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, dosage, and frequency
  • Verify and clarify prescriptions with physicians by phone as needed, and accept verbal prescriptions
  • Counsel patients on proper medication use and answer questions regarding over-the-counter products
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to identify and resolve drug therapy problems
  • Conduct full medication reviews, best possible medication histories, and medication reconciliation
  • Recruit and run health and wellness clinics and document interventions as permitted under provincial regulations
  • Administer medications by injection where permitted by provincial regulations
  • Order and communicate laboratory tests to the extent permitted by provincial regulations
  • Act as Pharmacist-In-Charge during the pharmacy manager’s absence and supervise pharmacy interns and students
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and keep all required certifications current
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and participate in a culture of patient safety

Requirements / Skills
