About the Role: Food Service Assistant – Food Court

Responsibilities

The Food Service Assistant at Costco’s Vaughan Food Court wears many hats throughout each shift. From food preparation and cash handling to sanitation and stocking, this role is essential to delivering a consistent member experience at the food court counter.

  • Prepare hot food items including rolling, shaping, adding toppings or fillings, and baking pizzas; slicing and placing baked items in warmers
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as deep fryers and steamers for hot dogs and buns
  • Process cash transactions — ringing up sales, collecting payments, making change, and following department cash handling procedures
  • Take and assemble orders from members at the counter and over the phone, presenting orders accurately and efficiently
  • Dispense beverages and desserts such as frozen yogurt, lattes, and smoothies; clean, sanitize, service, and refill dispensing machines
  • Maintain the dining area — bussing and sanitizing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, maintaining condiment tables and the self-serve pop station
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, machines, floors, pans, utensils, and counters; take garbage to the trash compactor and operate it safely
  • Pull and stock supplies from the warehouse to shelves, cooler, and freezer; stage ingredients to the preparation area and comply with health codes including temperature monitoring, product rotation, and expiry date checks

Requirements / Skills
