Tesla’s Collision Repair Program in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia is looking for an experienced Collision Estimator to join one of the most forward-thinking automotive brands on the planet. This is a technical estimating role — not sales — meaning you’ll be working hands-on with EV collision repair procedures and helping bring damaged Teslas back to factory standard.

About the Role: Collision Estimator

As a Collision Estimator at Tesla’s Port Coquitlam location, you’ll be responsible for creating detailed repair estimates for Tesla Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3 vehicles that come in for collision repair. You’ll build repair plans that follow Tesla-specific repair procedures, direct disassembly technicians to properly expose all damage upfront, and make informed decisions on repair versus replace scenarios when the path forward isn’t immediately clear.

You’ll also serve as the key point of contact between Tesla, the customer, and the insurance company — submitting claims, updating clients on vehicle progress, and managing the close-out and delivery of each completed vehicle. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of insurance procedures are essential to success in this position.

Responsibilities

The Collision Estimator role at Tesla is a technically demanding position that sits at the heart of the repair workflow. You’ll be coordinating across technicians, insurers, and customers simultaneously — making precision, communication, and automotive expertise equally important on any given day.

• Create repair estimates for collision-damaged Tesla vehicles including Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3
• Build repair plans in strict accordance with Tesla-specific repair procedures
• Direct disassembly technicians on the pace and scope of disassembly to expose all damage upfront
• Communicate with insurance companies to submit claims and manage billing throughout the repair process
• Direct Collision Technicians to perform repair attempts where Repair vs. Replace decisions are unclear
• Update customers regularly on their vehicle’s repair progress
• Close billing and oversee the delivery of completed vehicles to customers

Requirements / Skills

Tesla is looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in automotive collision estimating and a genuine interest in working with electric vehicle technology. The ideal applicant brings both technical know-how and the communication skills to work effectively with insurance providers and customers alike.

• 5+ years of experience in automotive collision damage estimating
• Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements in the collision repair process
• Proficiency with Audatex or Mitchell Estimating Software and general computer literacy
• Strong automotive background with willingness to cross-train in management roles as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service
• I-CAR certification is preferred
• Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence for Canada
