At the core of this role is the responsibility to lead and develop a team of at least six front-line Data Center Managers and 50–100 hourly employees across multiple shifts. You’ll own the full operational scope — from budget creation and tracking to process optimization using LEAN/6 Sigma methodology. Your leadership will directly shape the operational maturity and culture of the cluster.
This position also demands strong strategic planning and forecasting capabilities. Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this position in Pointe-Claire, QC is $103,900 – $136,100 CAD annually. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include signing bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities
The Chef de Cluster plays a pivotal role in Amazon’s data center infrastructure, overseeing multi-team operations and ensuring day-to-day excellence across safety, quality, and performance. - Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (minimum 6 front-line supervisors depending on location) and 50–100 hourly employees within Regional Data Centers
- Maintain accountability for overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience across multiple shifts
- Drive strategic planning and forecasting, including performance appraisals, employee rewards and discipline, problem resolution, and staffing needs management
- Meet and exceed operational goals by monitoring key metrics and continuously improving team output
- Mentor, train, and develop both peers and direct reports to support career progression at all levels
- Champion learning and development from both technical/functional and soft skills perspectives, including critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability
- Write and deliver annual performance reviews for staff in a clear, constructive manner
- Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the entire Cluster
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all organizational policies and procedures
Requirements / Skills

- 5+ years of management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
- 3+ years implementing LEAN/6 Sigma methodology including DMAIC/DVADV, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis
- 7+ years of experience working with computer components and operating systems
- Fluency in both French and English — required due to interaction with global Amazon entities and Canadian stakeholders across provinces
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (preferred)
- LEAN Certification/Belts and/or PMP/PMI certification (preferred)
- 5+ years managing geographically dispersed teams (preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with mission-critical infrastructure (preferred)
