Responsibilities
Working as a Cashier Assistant at Costco means being a key part of the front-end team. From the moment members approach the checkout to the time they leave the store, your work directly impacts the quality of their experience. Here’s what the role involves:
- Greet members warmly, help load orders onto the conveyor belt, and determine packing preferences
- Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto separate carts or flatbeds accurately and efficiently

- Maintain cleanliness of the register and front-end area, including immediate clean-up of spills and trip hazards
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking lot using proper technique, pushing no more than 8 carts at a time
- Perform opening and closing duties including returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning
- Operate mechanical trash compactor and cardboard bailer as required
- Support the cashier during various in-store promotions
