About the Role: Bakery Wrapper

As a Bakery Wrapper, you’ll be responsible for finishing baked goods according to Costco’s production formulas — whether that means drizzling icing, applying glazes, or hand-wrapping items. You’ll also weigh and label products, assemble cardboard packaging, and move product using large wheeled metal racks. Quality control is a key part of the job: you’ll cull broken, underweight, or defective items to ensure every product on the shelf meets Costco’s standards.

Beyond production, you’ll play a role in member service by monitoring the bakery sales area, restocking as needed, rotating stock, and monitoring pull dates in compliance with health codes. Following safety and security procedures is a must, and you’ll be expected to help out in other areas of the warehouse when needed.

Responsibilities

The Bakery Wrapper at Costco Brampton handles a variety of production and floor tasks every shift. From finishing baked goods to keeping the sales area fully stocked, this role requires attention to detail and a consistent focus on food safety and quality standards.

  • Remove product from baking containers and prepare items for finishing
  • Garnish and finish baked goods by drizzling icing or spraying glaze according to Costco’s formulas and production procedures
  • Wrap and package baked goods by hand or using a wrapping machine; assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes for packaging
  • Weigh and label products accurately, and cull any broken, underweight, heavy, or defective goods to maintain quality and consistency
  • Move product by pushing large wheeled metal racks around the department
  • Monitor and restock the bakery sales area, rotate stock, and track pull dates in compliance with health codes
  • Provide prompt and courteous member service, including directing members to product and service locations throughout the warehouse
  • Maintain cleanliness in both the wrapping and sales areas, following all safety and security procedures
  • Assist with other bakery and warehouse duties as needed

Requirements / Skills

This is an entry-level role — no prior experience is required. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment. A commitment to food safety and member service is what matters most here.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (not mandatory)
  • Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required and must be obtained by your first day in the position
  • Physical capability to move product using large wheeled metal racks and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

  • Customer service orientation to assist warehouse members professionally and courteously
  • For positions at Quebec locations: ability to communicate in French (oral and written) is required
