WHS Specialist – Amazon – Calgary, AB
Location: Calgary, AB | Company: Amazon
Calgary’s Amazon fulfilment network is looking for a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Specialist to help shape a culture where every associate goes home safe at the end of their shift. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who combines a genuine passion for workplace safety with the analytical skills to back it up with data — all within one of the world’s most operationally complex environments.
Day to day, you’ll be running safety audits, investigating incidents, delivering safety training, and partnering with frontline associates and leadership alike. It’s a role that blends field presence with program development — equal parts relationship-building and rigorous compliance work.
About the Role: WHS Specialist
As a WHS Specialist at Amazon’s Calgary fulfilment site, you’ll own the full lifecycle of safety programming — from risk assessments and incident investigations to developing training that actually resonates with associates on the floor. You’ll drive data-informed safety strategies and champion continuous improvement across the operation, always looking for innovative ways to reduce risk without sacrificing productivity.
Beyond the technical work, you’ll serve as a safety advocate and trusted advisor across all levels of the organisation. Building relationships with frontline workers and leadership is just as important as knowing your OSHA regulations. You’ll translate safety data into meaningful narratives that motivate behavioural change and help embed safe practices as everyday habits throughout the site.
Benefits and Salary
This position offers a base salary range of $29.00 – $40.00 CAD per hour, with total compensation that may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and basic life & AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional wellness resources.
