About the Role: Service Technician
Tesla Technicians handle both basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work across all Tesla products. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team to maximize repair efficiency, maintain shop equipment, and ensure every vehicle is delivered to the highest standard — including vehicle cleaning and detailing. You’ll also use a company-supplied laptop for diagnostics and ongoing online training.
Beyond hands-on repairs, this role involves providing direct feedback to Tesla’s design and engineering teams to help continuously improve repair procedures and products. A safety-first mindset and a respectful, inclusive attitude are essential to thriving in this dynamic environment.
Benefits and Salary
Tesla offers competitive hourly compensation based on technician level, along with cash and stock awards. Pay ranges are as follows: Service Technician I: $25.41–$38.12/hour; Service Technician II: $29.48–$44.21/hour; Service Technician III: $34.56–$51.83/hour; Sr. Service Technician: $40.66–$60.98/hour; Master Service Technician: $46.75–$70.14/hour. Responsibilities
Tesla Technicians play a critical role in the service operation, handling everything from day-to-day repairs to contributing feedback that shapes how Tesla continuously improves its products. The work is hands-on, fast-paced, and highly collaborative — no two days look exactly the same.
- Execute both basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work on all Tesla products
- Collaborate with team members to maximize repair efficiency and ensure exceptional product delivery, including vehicle cleaning and detailing
- Operate a variety of high-quality hand, power, and shop tools
- Utilize a company-supplied laptop for diagnostics and online training
- Document repairs accurately and inspect and maintain shop equipment, requesting replacements as necessary
- Provide direct feedback to Tesla’s design and engineering teams to continuously improve repair procedures and products
