About the Role: Warehouse Associate
As a Warehouse Associate at DHL Express, your day revolves around the accurate sorting, scanning, and movement of freight within the warehouse. You’ll be responsible for completing deliveries and pickups, performing vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and organizing freight to the correct routes — all while meeting tight deadlines. You’ll also handle front counter duties, assist with warehouse checks for missorts, and perform accurate reporting throughout your shift.
Safety and teamwork are central to this role. You’ll be expected to maintain a safe, co-operative work environment, participate in warehouse organization and clean-up, and support the Tracing Department as needed. HIC duties and other tasks assigned by the shift supervisor are also part of the position.

Responsibilities
In this warehouse role, you’ll be active from the moment your shift starts — sorting inbound freight, scanning packages, and ensuring everything reaches the right route on time. Each task you complete contributes directly to DHL’s reputation for reliable, on-time delivery.
- Complete assigned deliveries, pickups, and other tasks as directed by the shift supervisor
- Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after every use
- Scan freight accurately according to established DHL procedures
- Organize and sort all freight to the appropriate delivery routes
- Move freight throughout the warehouse area as required during the shift
- Process inbound material accurately and on time, meeting all deadlines
- Assist the Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts and on-hands
- Perform front counter duties, HIC duties, and accurate reporting
- Participate in warehouse organization, clean-up, and maintaining a safe work environment
Requirements / Skills
DHL is looking for someone who is physically capable, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Experience with DHL’s operations systems is an asset, and candidates should be prepared to meet all security and background check requirements before starting.
- Physical capability to lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs throughout the shift
- Forklift certificate is required for this position
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within tight time constraints and meet deadlines
- Teamwork skills with a proven ability to collaborate in a warehouse setting
- Broad knowledge of general warehouse functions and operations
- Familiarity with DHL operations systems is considered an asset
- Must meet security requirements including criminal background checks for all countries lived in over the past 5 years
