About the Role: Tire Installer
As a Tire Installer at Costco Mississauga, you’ll handle every step of the tire service process — from driving member vehicles into the install bay to completing the 40KM torque check and returning keys to the sales desk. You’ll work with industry-standard equipment including impact guns, hydraulic hoists, wheel balancers, and TPMS reset tools, following TIA R.I.S.T. Standards and American Lift Institute guidelines throughout.
Beyond technical work, this role requires solid communication and member service skills. You’ll be recommending tires using the 5 steps of selling, quoting prices by phone and in person, processing invoices and payments accurately, and collaborating with the Tire Centre manager and other departments. Safety, accuracy, and efficiency are central to how the team operates every shift.

Responsibilities
The Tire Installer role at Costco covers a wide range of technical and customer service tasks throughout the day. From the moment a member’s vehicle enters the tire centre to the moment it’s returned to the lot, you play a key role in ensuring a safe, accurate, and efficient service experience.
- Install, balance, and rotate tires following TIA R.I.S.T. Standards using impact guns, hydraulic hoists, and wheel balancers
- Reset and relearn TPMS sensors as required using Costco-supplied reset tools
- Repair flat tires for members in accordance with Tire Industry Standards
- Drive member vehicles into the install bay and park them in the lot after service is complete
- Process tire purchase and service invoices, accept payment accurately including cash, cheque, credit, and debit
- Assist members with tire selection using product knowledge and the 5 steps of selling
- Perform 40KM torque checks and alert the manager/lead for 10-point check and vehicle release authorization
- Stock, tag, and organize tires on the sales floor in line with the Tire Centre manager’s merchandising plan
- Maintain a clean install and sales area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping throughout the shift
- Assist with propane refills once provincially certified, following all safety procedures and guidelines
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for candidates who are reliable, safety-conscious, and technically capable in a fast-moving automotive service environment. Previous experience in tire installation or tire sales will give applicants a clear advantage, and a professional attitude toward member service is essential.
- Valid driver’s licence is required to operate member vehicles on-site
- Must pass Costco Tire certification test as part of the onboarding process
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Previous tire installation or tire sales experience is preferred and given priority in candidate selection
- Propane certification (PP0-3 and TDG from PTI 100-11 program) required for locations offering propane services, once provincially certified
- Ability to communicate in French (oral and written) required for Quebec locations
