At the Costco warehouse on Dundas Street East in Mississauga, the Loss Prevention Clerk plays a direct role in protecting both members and company assets. About the Role: Loss Prevention Clerk

Responsibilities

The Loss Prevention Clerk at Costco Mississauga is responsible for actively safeguarding the warehouse environment through continuous monitoring, intervention, and reporting. These duties require both physical endurance and strong analytical skills, as you’ll be moving throughout the warehouse for extended periods and making real-time decisions.

• Patrol the warehouse floor and perimeter for up to 8 hours daily to identify safety and security concerns
• Observe, detect, and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with Costco procedures and applicable laws
• Detain and interview theft suspects when circumstances warrant
• Identify and report potential internal dishonesty to the Warehouse Manager and Regional Loss Prevention Manager
• Prepare detailed reports for internal use and potential prosecution, maintaining organized evidence and investigation files
• Testify in court as required in connection with theft investigations
• Detect and report shrink reduction opportunities within warehouse operations to management
• Coach and educate warehouse team members on loss prevention topics, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with other Costco Loss Prevention Clerks and local businesses to share information on current theft threats
• Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills

• Valid Loss Prevention Licence as required by the Province of Ontario
• Loss Prevention experience is preferred — candidates with relevant backgrounds will be given priority consideration

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
