About the Role: Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant

As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant at Costco Mississauga, you’ll work across the major appliance, jewellery, and electronics sections of the sales floor. Your primary focus will be on delivering prompt, helpful service to Costco members — answering their questions, walking them through product features, and helping them load items onto their carts. You’ll also be responsible for keeping product displays clean, stocked, and properly signed.

Staying informed is a key part of this role. You’ll regularly read industry magazines and product reviews to keep your knowledge of technology and trends up to date. You’ll also work closely with the Area Manager on inventory matters and actively participate in merchandise moves and restocking activities. Maintaining a tidy, organized department — including the security lock-up — is part of the everyday routine.

Responsibilities

Working on the sales floor in the electronics and majors department means wearing several hats throughout the day. From member interactions to inventory management, here’s what the role looks like in practice:

• Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members, answering questions and demonstrating product features
• Assist members in loading product to their carts
• Stay current on technology and product trends by reading industry magazines, reviews, and product literature
• Communicate with the Area Manager regarding merchandise quantity, pricing, delivery, and promotions
• Maintain product displays by aligning, facing, and stocking merchandise to high product levels
• Check and approve product for member returns and verify accuracy of product signage
• Participate in merchandise moves and coordinate with forklift drivers on stocking activities
• Organize the security item lock-up and keep the sales floor clear of debris
• Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for a candidate who is comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment and genuinely enjoys helping people. Product enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important as prior experience in this role.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Sales experience will be given preference over other candidates
• Must pass Costco’s PC/Electronics knowledge test as part of the hiring process
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude are essential on the sales floor
• French language skills (oral and written) are required for candidates applying to Quebec locations — not applicable for this Mississauga posting
