You’ll oversee all aspects of rebate execution — from calculation and approval through to accurate reflection in the P&L and Balance Sheet. This includes reviewing manual adjustments, approving special rebate requests, and ensuring accruals are correct with documented variance explanations.
Beyond the technical responsibilities, this role demands strong people leadership skills. You’ll be coaching and developing your team, driving continuous process improvements, maintaining SOP documentation, and participating in the recruitment and onboarding of new analysts. You’ll also be accountable for CPO controls and KPI development, making this a well-rounded supervisory position with real organizational impact.
Benefits and Salary
Canadian Tire offers a competitive salary for this role, with a typical hiring range of $64,000 to $106,000 CAD, depending on experience, skills, and other role-specific factors. Responsibilities
The Supervisor, Dealer Rebates manages a broad scope of financial and operational duties that keep rebate programs running smoothly across multiple business units. From leading day-to-day team activities to partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, this role requires both analytical precision and strong leadership presence.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all rebate programs and processes across CTR Dealer, Marks, and Party City business units
- Lead and monitor daily activities of the Rebates team, including workload prioritization, coaching, training, performance feedback, and team meetings
- Oversee calculation and execution of recurring and ad-hoc rebates, ensuring full compliance with Dealer Contracts and established policies
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Support to resolve rebate-related issues and disputes
- Review and approve all manual rebate adjustments and special rebate requests
- Ensure accurate accruals for rebates and provide variance explanations
- Maintain and update SOP documentation and process maps for rebate activities
- Develop and monitor KPIs for the Rebates team and drive continuous improvement initiatives to standardize processes
- Ensure CPO controls are executed and documented for monthly/quarterly review
- Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new team members and engage in meetings for new business opportunities and rebate programs
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a combination of financial expertise and team leadership experience from within a large, complex organization. - University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA/CMA/CGA designation or active pursuit is a strong asset
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or rebate management within a large organization
- Strong understanding of rebate programs, Dealer Contracts, and financial processes
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Access is an asset
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems; familiarity with IMS (InfoPac, PMCost) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a changing environment
