Senior Business Analyst – Canadian Tire – Oakville, ON

Canadian Tire Corporation is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Finance Systems & Data Governance team in Oakville, Ontario. About the Role: Senior Business Analyst

Reporting to the Manager of Finance Systems & Data Governance, you’ll partner with Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to plan and deliver application improvements aligned to enterprise standards. Your work spans the full delivery lifecycle — analysis, design, build support, testing, and implementation — across core Finance domains including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Asset Management, Project Costing, Lease Administration, and Planning.

This position requires someone who can balance competing priorities, perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, and communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment where governance, controls, and compliance within Finance systems are critical considerations.

Benefits and Salary

Canadian Tire’s typical hiring range for this role is between $64,000 and $106,000 CAD, with final salary based on experience, knowledge, skills, and market factors. Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst on the Finance Systems team, your day-to-day work centres on analysing, designing, and delivering improvements to critical Finance platforms. You’ll be the connective tissue between Finance and Technology teams, ensuring that system capabilities align to business needs while upholding enterprise standards and controls.

• Support the Finance Operations model across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Costing, Asset Management, Lease Administration, General Ledger, and Planning
• Lead business process analysis to identify and assess improvement opportunities, documenting current and future-state workflows and recommending scalable solutions
• Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for Finance initiatives, ensuring clarity, traceability, and alignment to enterprise standards
• Manage delivery of prioritized Finance initiatives across the full lifecycle including analysis, design, build support, testing, and implementation
• Triage and resolve critical and sustaining issues in partnership with functional and technical teams, balancing short-term fixes with long-term solutions
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring defects or data issues and drive permanent remediation through process, system, or control improvements
• Develop test strategies and test scripts, execute functional and integration testing, and document results to support high-quality releases
• Coordinate resource planning, dependencies, and timelines across business and IT teams to support effective delivery
• Provide status updates, risks, and recommendations to management and business stakeholders to support informed decision-making

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise business analysis experience combined with a solid understanding of integrated Finance systems and data flows. Canadian Tire is looking for someone who can translate complex Finance requirements into clear, actionable specifications — and who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.

• End-to-end business analysis experience including process mapping, functional design, requirements traceability, and impact analysis in enterprise environments
• Finance systems knowledge with experience supporting integrated platforms and understanding upstream/downstream data flows, reconciliations, and controls
• Data analysis and validation skills to support defect resolution, enhancements, and system changes
• Agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery experience collaborating with product owners, developers, and QA teams
• Testing methodology familiarity including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion, and/or Coupa is considered an asset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to produce executive-level status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations
• Cross-functional stakeholder experience partnering with Finance, Technology, and external vendors in a matrixed environment
