About the Role: Specialist, Accounts Payable

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be deeply involved in the operational and analytical functions of the Merchandise Accounts Payable department. From resolving vendor discrepancies to building internal queries and maintaining accurate process documentation, the work you do will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of CTC’s AP operations across multiple banners.
- Resolve 3-way match exceptions for high-maintenance vendors by working directly with vendors and internal CTC departments to address root causes
- Improve systemic 3-way match success rates through proactive analysis and cross-functional collaboration
- Provide subject matter expertise on Merch AP projects, contributing accurate current-state process details and meaningful input for future-state proposals
- Complete ad-hoc and regular reporting requests from the Manager of Merch AP and approved external departments
- Identify needs for new queries within the department and develop private queries for promotion to production
- Maintain and update standardised process documentation for all Merch AP Ops functions under CTR, MARKS, and FGL
- Deliver training to payment representatives as needed to support team capability
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a combination of financial acumen, technical proficiency with enterprise-level financial systems, and the communication skills needed to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams. - Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint are required
- PeopleSoft or equivalent financial system experience (SAP, JDE, JDA, Manhattan, Oracle) within the Accounts Payable module is essential
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related discipline
- 2–5 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting role within PeopleSoft or a comparable large-scale financial system
- Knowledge of PMM is an asset for this role
- VBA programming and SQL skills are considered assets
- Experience in corporate retail or supply chain environments is an asset
