Benefits and Salary

The base salary for this position ranges from $82,400 to $137,600 CAD annually, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the complete category P&L and executing both tactical and strategic initiatives to drive growth. From negotiating vendor contracts to building promotional campaigns, your work will directly influence Amazon Canada’s Softlines performance.

  • Own the full P&L of a Softlines category, including sales growth, margin management, and profitability targets
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms and conditions
  • Identify and pursue new brand and product business opportunities to expand selection
  • Manage vendor setup and new item setup processes end-to-end
  • Set pricing strategies and develop collaborative marketing and promotional programs with vendors
  • Monitor industry and competitive trends to keep the category ahead of the curve
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems
  • Deliver a disruptive customer experience by optimizing selection, pricing, and overall category presentation

Requirements / Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, project or program management, or buying
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration across multiple business functions
  • Proven ability to use data to influence business decisions and strategy
  • Business analysis and P&L management experience required
  • Experience with generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency is considered an asset
  • Ability to align cross-functional teams around shared direction and goals is an asset
