About the Role: Sort Manager

Responsibilities
The Sort Manager plays a critical role in keeping the Woodbridge facility operating at a high level. Day to day, you’ll be leading and directing sort operations, driving compliance, and reinforcing a workplace culture where safety is the top priority. Strong organizational skills and a clear-headed approach to managing people and processes are essential in this position.
- Manage and oversee all sort operations within the FedEx Ground facility
- Support and enforce the FedEx Ground Safety Above All Culture across all teams and shifts
- Ensure compliance with FXG policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations
- Lead staff through day-to-day operational activities on the sort floor
- Monitor performance and take corrective action as needed to meet operational targets
- Complete all mandatory training, testing thresholds, and annual accreditations as required
- Operate in a PC Windows environment and use MS Office tools to support reporting and communications
- Work varying shifts based on business needs
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for a candidate who already has a solid foundation in business operations and ideally some experience in the transportation and logistics sector. You’ll need to be a current member of FedEx management or hold LEAP/EXCEL endorsement, and bring a practical, safety-focused mindset to everything you do. Physical capability is also part of the job — this is a hands-on facility role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
- Four (4) years of business experience
- Two (2) years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related service industry (preferred)
- Basic proficiency in MS Office — Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
- Current FedEx management member or LEAP/EXCEL endorsed (required)
- Physical ability to lift 70 lbs. and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment
- Bilingual (French and English) required if residing in the province of Quebec
