About the Role: Solution Architect III, Platform, FSI

As a Solution Architect, you’ll serve as the primary technical partner and trusted advisor for Google Cloud’s financial services customers. Your days will involve a mix of deep technical engagements — from proof-of-concept development and live demos to architecture reviews and executive presentations — all designed to help customers understand the full value of the Google Cloud portfolio. You’ll translate complex business problems into practical cloud solutions spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics, and more.

Responsibilities

This role blends technical architecture, sales strategy, and customer advisory into one dynamic position. You’ll be expected to own the technical relationship with FSI clients from initial engagement through to post-sales delivery support, driving measurable cloud adoption across the Google Cloud portfolio.

  • Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participating in planning and supporting targeted sales motions
  • Combine sales expertise, programming knowledge, and solutions architecture skills to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud Platform through complex demos, pilots, and in-depth workshops
  • Architect cross-pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers, continuing to lead technical engagement through the solution phase
  • Facilitate post-sales transitions by supporting pricing activities and handing off the final delivery plan to implementation teams
  • Monitor progress against delivery plans and provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, migration, and implementation phases
  • Engage with technical and business leaders, presenting practical and persuasive cloud solutions tailored to the financial services industry
  • Identify and pursue new business workloads while driving deeper engagement within existing customer accounts

Requirements / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical field
  • 10 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience with cloud development, on-premise development, virtualization, or containerization platforms
  • Stakeholder engagement experience — presenting to or working alongside technical stakeholders and executive leaders
  • Programming and prototyping skills, including experience with systems design, debugging, demos, or customer workshops
  • Financial services industry experience (preferred) — working with or supporting FSI clients is a strong asset
  • Full sales cycle experience (preferred) — from defining delivery plans to transitioning for execution
  • Security concept familiarity (preferred) — including encryption, identity management, access control, and penetration testing
  • Application and service migration experience to cloud platforms is a plus
