About the Role: Software Development Engineer Intern

The Software Development Engineer Intern role involves working on large-scale distributed systems, improving software processes, and creating innovative technologies. Responsibilities of a Software Development Engineer Intern

• Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions.
• Build scalable, fault-tolerant systems for distributed computing environments.
• Write efficient, maintainable code while solving complex technical challenges.
• Create tools and systems to run predictions and analyze distributed data at scale.
• Participate in code reviews, refine system designs, and contribute to agile development cycles.
• Engage with cross-disciplinary teams to bring new products and services to market.

Qualifications for the Software Development Engineer Intern Role

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C++, or Perl.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 12-week internship during Summer 2025.
• Graduation expected between October 2025 and September 2028.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modern programming languages and object-oriented design.
• Previous technical internship experience is an asset.
• Enrollment in a Canadian academic program.
