About the Role: Site EHS Manager
The Site EHS Manager is responsible for implementing Amazon’s global WHS programs at the site level, ensuring full compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations. You’ll lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing conditional and ergonomic risk, conduct regular audits, and analyse incident trend data to direct resources where they matter most. You’ll also serve as the site’s designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and executing the Amazon Global Program.
Beyond the operational side, this role carries significant leadership responsibilities. You’ll build and mentor a team of WHS professionals, establish clear performance expectations, and create development plans that grow your people into strong EHS practitioners. Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this position is $106,000 to $177,000 CAD annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. As part of Amazon’s total compensation approach, the package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Responsibilities
This role covers a broad range of safety, compliance, and leadership duties within a large fulfilment centre environment. As the senior WHS authority on site, your work directly protects the health of hundreds of associates and shapes the safety culture of the entire operation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS policies and local, regional, and federal regulations
- Lead risk reduction initiatives targeting conditional and ergonomic hazards across warehouse processes
- Conduct regular site audits to identify non-compliant equipment or procedures and implement corrective actions
- Analyse WHS metrics and incident trends to allocate resources effectively and justify safety investments
- Audit recordkeeping practices and WHS Information System entries for accuracy and global compliance
- Evaluate training quality, delivery, and effectiveness across all required WHS programs, including trainer qualifications
- Build strong relationships with both site and regional leadership to drive accountability for safety performance
- Develop and mentor a team of WHS professionals through leadership plans, regular feedback, and clear expectations
- Serve as the site’s designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating the Amazon Global Program
Requirements / Skills
Amazon is looking for a candidate with a strong EHS background and demonstrated leadership experience in a high-volume operational setting. The right person brings both technical knowledge and the interpersonal skills to influence how a large team approaches safety every day.
- 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, production, or service operations
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience leading multiple direct reports or managing EHS across multiple sites
- In-depth knowledge of local, regional, and federal health and safety regulations
- Lean principles and process improvement experience in an operational environment (preferred)
- Distribution centre or manufacturing EHS experience with a mixed workforce of 250+ employees (preferred)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as required
