About the Role: Senior Manager, Statistical Modelling & Advanced Analytics

In this role, you’ll own the design and development of advanced quantitative models using retail, customer, and loyalty data. You’ll apply methods ranging from forecasting and causal inference to predictive modelling, segmentation, and optimization — always with a focus on turning complex analysis into practical, decision-ready recommendations. You’ll also establish rigorous standards for model design, validation, monitoring, and measurement to ensure the quality and scalability of the team’s output.

Beyond the technical work, this role carries meaningful leadership responsibility. You’ll coach and develop a team of analysts and data scientists while staying close enough to the work to set a high technical bar. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the broader modelling and experimentation function within the analytics organization, influencing how Canadian Tire uses data to drive strategic decisions.

Benefits and Salary

Canadian Tire offers a hiring salary range of $90,000 to $145,000 per year, with final compensation based on experience, skills, and role-specific factors. Responsibilities

This role spans both hands-on technical modelling and strategic team leadership. Day-to-day, you’ll be building and validating sophisticated models while guiding your team and working closely with senior business stakeholders. The work is varied, high-visibility, and directly connected to outcomes across retail, loyalty, and customer strategy.

• Lead the design and development of advanced statistical and quantitative models using retail, customer, and loyalty data
• Apply a broad range of methods including forecasting, causal inference, experimentation, predictive modelling, segmentation, and optimization to solve real business problems
• Partner with business leaders to identify where modelling can most improve decision-making, customer outcomes, and financial performance

Requirements / Skills

Canadian Tire is looking for a rigorous statistical thinker who can move fluidly between deep technical work and executive-level communication. The right candidate brings both methodological depth and the practical judgment to apply the right level of complexity for each problem. Leadership experience and the ability to influence senior stakeholders are just as important as technical credentials.

• Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (PhD welcome but not required)
• Significant experience in statistical modelling, advanced analytics, or quantitative decision support
• Strong command of quantitative methods including regression and classification, forecasting/time series, experimental design, causal inference, statistical learning, and model validation
• Proficiency in Python for coding and model development
• Experience with large datasets using SQL, Spark, or similar tools
• Familiarity with modern data environments such as Databricks, cloud platforms, or distributed computing frameworks
• Strong communication skills — the ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven leadership experience including leading projects, influencing senior stakeholders, and raising the quality of others’ work
