About the Role: Senior Financial Analyst
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting cost benefit analyses, building and maintaining Excel-based financial models, and preparing multi-year forecasts and cash flow projections. You’ll conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate investment performance and help prepare presentation materials for senior leadership discussions.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll work alongside senior team members while also reaching across departments to gather inputs and ensure accuracy. Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $64,000 to $106,000 per annum, with a typical hiring range between $64,000 and $85,000. Final compensation depends on experience, internal equity, and market benchmarks. Responsibilities
This role centres on providing financial and analytical support for retail capital investment decisions at a national scale. From building models to preparing executive presentations, each responsibility contributes directly to how Canadian Tire allocates its investment budget across its retail network.
- Support the preparation of Cost Benefit Analyses for retail investment projects, contributing to the evaluation of proposed initiatives
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel, including discounted cash flow analysis (IRR, NPV, and payback) with guidance from senior team members
- Assist in developing multi-year forecasts and cash flow projections based on key operating and capital assumptions
- Analyze financial performance and key drivers of returns through scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Prepare reporting, commentary, and presentation materials to support senior leadership discussions and investment decisions
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to compare actual performance against forecasts and identify key variances and learnings

Requirements / Skills

- University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline

- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, and HFM is an asset
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) in progress or interest in pursuing is an asset
