About the Role: Senior Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst at Canadian Tire, your day-to-day will revolve around keeping the team moving forward with clarity and precision. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be a central figure in driving Agile delivery and requirements management across complex digital and loyalty programs. From backlog grooming to design workshops, every task you take on contributes to delivering high-quality solutions that serve both the business and its customers.

  • Build and maintain the team backlog and board, keeping it current and ready for upcoming iterations
  • Support the Product Owner in prioritizing backlog items based on user value, time constraints, and team dependencies
  • Lead requirements discovery end-to-end for loyalty and banking channel capabilities, translating objectives into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate design workshops with internal and external partners, producing process flows, routing logic, and business rules documentation
  • Establish and govern BSA documentation standards, templates, and best practices through peer reviews and quality checks
  • Participate in regression testing, test case reviews, and proof of testing processes
  • Act as liaison between the Product Owner and the development team, resolving blockers and maintaining solution momentum
  • Clarify data definitions, ownership, and usage rules for each data element through business requirements and data mapping exercises
  • Coach and mentor junior Business Analysts as needed, supporting team capability and knowledge sharing

Requirements / Skills

  • Agile and Product Ownership expertise, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional squads
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Azure DevOps, Jira, Lucid, SharePoint, and Confluence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to unblock teams and keep projects progressing
  • Experience with loyalty or banking programs and an understanding of data mapping and business requirements definition is an asset
