About the Role: Senior Analyst, Market Intelligence
As a Senior Analyst on the Market Intelligence team, you’ll be responsible for owning the full analytical cycle — from raw competitive pricing data to executive-ready presentations. You’ll design scalable, repeatable analytical approaches and build KNIME-based workflows that move the team from manual, ad hoc reporting toward automated, standardized insight delivery. Your work will directly inform pricing strategy across multiple banners at both the national and regional level.
This role also carries a data quality and governance component. You’ll partner with internal teams and external vendors to investigate data issues, define business logic, and proactively identify gaps or risks in competitive datasets. Final compensation depends on experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities
In this role, your day-to-day work spans competitive pricing analysis, dashboard development, cross-functional collaboration, and data governance. Each of these areas feeds into a larger goal: helping Canadian Tire make faster, smarter pricing decisions backed by reliable, well-structured data.
- Own advanced analysis of competitive pricing data across banners, covering pricing behaviour, dispersion, and market positioning at national and regional levels
- Design and execute structured, repeatable analytical approaches that move beyond ad hoc reporting toward scalable insight generation
- Build and enhance KNIME-based analytical workflows to support ongoing pricing analysis, monitoring, and insight delivery — evolving processes from manual to automated where appropriate
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform pricing strategy, regional decisions, and leadership discussions
- Design and maintain standardized reports and interactive Power BI dashboards to monitor competitive pricing trends and performance across initiatives
- Develop reporting that communicates key drivers, insights, and exceptions clearly to cross-functional teams and leadership
- Support executive-level materials by embedding analytical depth, clear visuals, and concise narratives into competitive pricing updates and presentations
- Collaborate closely with Pricing Strategy, Regional Pricing, and Merchandising teams to support and expand Market Intelligence initiatives
- Ensure data accuracy by partnering with internal teams and external vendors to investigate issues, define business logic, and resolve data quality challenges
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a strong quantitative background, hands-on experience with data analytics tools, and the communication skills to present complex findings to stakeholders at all levels. - 3+ years of experience in analytics, pricing, market intelligence, business intelligence, or a related analytical role — ideally within retail, pricing, or a data-driven business
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as KNIME, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, and/or SQL, along with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources
- Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at varied levels, including external dealer partners
- Demonstrated leadership and influence skills, with the ability to provide thought leadership and cultivate relationships across a broad range of functions
