Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Financial Planning, this role sits at the intersection of financial analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. About the Role: Senior Analyst, Enterprise Financial Planning
In this position, you’ll be deeply involved in the creation and management of the Annual Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP) across all CTC banners. Day-to-day, that means supporting top-down versus bottom-up reconciliations, monitoring monthly sales and margin performance, and conducting detailed analysis against plans and forecasts. You’ll be working with large datasets, building out financial models, and translating numbers into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll be partnering with cross-functional teams across multiple banners, so the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholder groups is just as important as your technical skills. Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — are essential for presenting complex financial findings in a way that drives decisions forward.
Benefits and Salary
Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $64,000 – $106,000 CAD, with a typical hiring range of $70,000 to $85,000 CAD depending on experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities
As a Senior Analyst in Enterprise Financial Planning, your work will directly support strategic decision-making across all Canadian Tire Corporation banners. From building financial models to reconciling multi-level merchandise plans, these responsibilities require both precision and a strong commercial mindset.
- Support the creation and management of the Annual Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP) for all CTC banners
- Reconcile top-down and bottom-up MFPs by collaborating closely with banner planning functions
- Monitor monthly performance tracking sales and margin results against plans and forecasts, identifying trends that will inform long-term financial outlooks
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting on key performance metrics across all banners
- Support category prioritization and channel opportunities analysis, including objectives setting and resource allocation through financial modelling
- Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to multiple stakeholders through clear, concise communication formats
Requirements / Skills
Canadian Tire is looking for a candidate who combines strong analytical capabilities with the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively across a complex, multi-banner retail organisation. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, communicating recommendations clearly, and working with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Post-secondary university education in business or finance (or a related field)
- 3+ years of experience in a financial analysis role within a retail organisation, with a strong understanding of retail math and P&L drivers
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with demonstrated ability to turn data into recommendations and actionable insights
- Proven cross-functional collaboration experience and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across complex projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Analytical problem-solving ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a track record of ensuring accuracy in financial analysis and reporting
