Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be actively managing the self-checkout area to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every customer. From keeping the space tidy to troubleshooting issues on the spot, your day will be varied and customer-focused. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain cleanliness by keeping the self-checkout area neat, organized, and free of debris, foreign objects, and liquids
  • Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service checkout options
  • Promote sponsor programs including Walmart’s credit card service, product protection plans, and charity initiatives
  • Monitor customer activity to determine when assistance is needed and provide it promptly
  • Conduct quality checks and interventions when required, explaining the process politely and reassuring customers that it is standard protocol
  • Respond to EAS alarms and complete the “Failure to Deactivate” Log as required
  • Coordinate with the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area is low on cash or experiencing technical issues
  • Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated location after each use
