About the Role: Deli Bakery Team Associate

As a Deli Bakery Team Associate at Walmart Woodbridge, your day-to-day responsibilities cover both the Deli and Bakery sections of the store. You’ll be responsible for keeping shelves, bunkers, and display tables well-organized and properly zoned so customers can always find what they’re looking for. On the deli side, that means preparing hot food merchandise, taking customer orders, and using rotisserie ovens and utensils to get orders ready. On the bakery side, you’ll be thawing and baking goods — including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls — following precise guidelines to maintain quality and visual presentation.

Food safety is a core part of this position. You’ll be expected to follow cold chain compliance procedures, perform thermometer calibrations, record temperatures accurately, and stay on top of sell-by and expiration dates. Proper stock rotation and adherence to Walmart’s standards for markups, markdowns, and product labelling are also part of the job. Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $18.05 per hour. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll split your time between food preparation, department organization, and customer service across both the Deli and Bakery sections. Staying on top of product freshness and department standards is central to everything you do — your work directly impacts the quality of what Walmart’s customers bring home.

• Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and merchandise is in the correct location
• Rotate stock and check for expired products to maintain freshness and food safety standards
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced at all times
• Adhere to food safety standards including cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, and sell-by/expiration date monitoring
• Take and prepare deli orders, including hot food merchandise and rotisserie chicken using the rotisserie oven, and fill prepared side dishes for display
• Prepare bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines for bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls to ensure quality and visual presentation
• Follow proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labelling
