About the Role: Sanitation Associate

As a Sanitation Associate, your primary focus is maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary facility that meets FedEx Supply Chain Canada’s safety and quality standards. You’ll follow assigned sanitation logs, operate cleaning equipment throughout the warehouse and office spaces, and keep floors free of debris. Seasonal duties include snow removal from designated areas, and if trained, you’ll also perform pre- and post-use inspections on sweeper scrubber equipment.

This position requires a team-oriented mindset and a commitment to safety and compliance. You’ll be expected to monitor cleaning supplies, report inventory needs, flag any areas left unkempt from previous shifts, and identify waste that could affect operational flow — all while conducting yourself in a way that upholds company standards and supports a respectful, inclusive workplace.

Benefits and Salary

This position offers a pay rate of $21.34 per hour, with an overall pay range of CAD $17.95 – $25.71 per hour depending on education, training, and experience. Responsibilities

The Sanitation Associate plays a key role in keeping FedEx Supply Chain Canada’s Milton facility clean, safe, and compliant with company quality standards. From operating cleaning equipment to managing supply inventory, the work you do every shift directly supports product safety, operational flow, and a healthy workplace for all team members.

• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently throughout all warehouse and office areas
• Follow assigned sanitation logs and cleaning requirements consistently on every shift
• Use cleaning materials and liquids correctly as directed by supervisors
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and communicate reorder needs in a timely manner
• Maintain floors free of debris and ensure a clean, orderly appearance throughout the facility
• Report any unkempt areas carried over from previous shifts to the appropriate supervisor
• Remove snow from designated exterior areas as seasonally required
• Inspect sweeper scrubber equipment before and after use (when trained) to confirm proper function and condition
• Identify and report areas of waste that may impact operational flow
• Conduct all operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with company standards

Requirements / Skills

This role is well-suited for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a warehouse environment. FedEx values team players who can adapt to changing tasks and take initiative in maintaining a clean and safe workspace without needing constant direction.

• High school diploma preferred but not mandatory
• Sanitation and janitorial experience is preferred — prior exposure to similar environments is an asset
• English language proficiency (reading, speaking, and understanding) required to complete assignments; functional French required for candidates residing in Quebec
• Adaptability to changing work environments, tasks, and priorities
• Strong communication skills — both verbal and written — to interact with supervisors and team members effectively
• Physical capability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for the duration of a shift, and perform tasks with a full range of motion in a warehouse setting
