Responsibilities

As a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier on-call with Canada Post, your work will directly impact the daily lives of residents across Palmerston and surrounding communities.   • Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and on time across assigned rural and suburban routes
  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
  • Secure all mail in your possession at all times to prevent loss or damage
  • Process Canada Post products and services including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail reports, and Items Delivered Bills (IDB)
  • Wear and display Canada Post identification visibly during all deliveries and collections
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg)
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely across all weather and traffic conditions

Requirements / Skills

  • Experience making deliveries and operating a vehicle in varied weather and traffic conditions
  • Residence within 75 km of the Palmerston Post Office (preferred)
