About the Role: Program Consultant, Dealer Training and Development

Reporting to the Manager of Dealer Training & Development, the Program Consultant is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the Dealer Training Program. This includes planning and coordinating training phases, maintaining curriculum content, and providing direct coaching and feedback to Training Dealers. You’ll also serve as a key liaison between trainees, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), store owners, field teams, and Home Office contacts — keeping training aligned with current business priorities and industry best practices.

Beyond day-to-day coordination, you’ll be an active contributor to the program’s future direction. Whether it’s identifying performance gaps, flagging planning risks, or exploring emerging learning technologies and trends, this role asks you to think strategically while staying grounded in the practical needs of each trainee.

Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $53,000 to $88,000 CAD annually, with a typical hiring range of $70,000 to $80,000 CAD annually depending on experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities

The day-to-day work of a Program Consultant at Canadian Tire is both operational and strategic. You’ll manage the moving parts of a structured training program while also keeping a close eye on individual trainee progress — adjusting plans, communicating risks, and coaching participants toward readiness. These responsibilities require a balance of organizational discipline, interpersonal skill, and a genuine passion for developing people.

  • Support coordination of multi-phase training plans, including planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Maintain and manage training content for assigned curriculum within the Dealer Training Program
  • Develop and sustain a network of Subject Matter Experts, store owners, field teams, and Home Office contacts to keep training current and aligned with business priorities
  • Analyze results to identify performance gaps and make necessary adjustments to training delivery
  • Coach trainees and provide ongoing, constructive feedback on their overall program performance
  • Assess training progress and address any adjustments required to ensure trainee readiness
  • Identify and communicate performance or planning risks, such as trainee readiness or SME availability
  • Contribute actively to developing a vision for the future of the Dealer Training Program by staying current on learning trends and best practices
