About the Role: Post Office Assistant
As a Post Office Assistant, your day-to-day will revolve around serving customers at the counter, handling postal transactions, and keeping mail operations running smoothly. Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for a candidate who is comfortable working with the public, capable of handling cash transactions, and physically able to manage the demands of a postal retail environment. Given the on-call nature of the role, adaptability and local community ties are a definite asset. Bilingual proficiency (French and English) is required for this posting.
- High school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash handling
- Understanding of general or post office accounting systems
- Physical fitness to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work as needed
- Bilingual (French/English) as per the Bilingual Imperative language requirement
