About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent
Your day begins at the Canada Post depot, where you’ll sort and prepare the day’s deliveries before loading up a postal vehicle and heading out on your assigned route. The bulk of your shift is spent outdoors — delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle — before returning to the depot to unload incoming parcels for later delivery.

Responsibilities
A Letter Carrier at Canada Post handles every stage of the daily delivery cycle — from depot preparation to route completion. The work is hands-on, time-sensitive, and requires both physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure every customer receives their mail and parcels reliably.
- Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot before heading out on route
- Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and responsibly
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers along your assigned route
- Work outdoors for the majority of each shift, in all types of weather conditions throughout the year
- Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and parcels for later delivery
- Represent Canada Post professionally as the face of the organization in your community
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for dependable candidates who are physically capable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in the field. A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record are mandatory, and candidates who bring prior delivery or customer service experience will have an advantage.
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record of at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
- Physical ability to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
- Ability to work in all weather conditions year-round
- Availability to be on-call as required by the schedule
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French (French is essential for this position)
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Experience in delivery or driving roles is considered an advantage
