Responsibilities
Working at the front counter of the Hornepayne Post Office, this role puts you at the heart of community mail services. From processing transactions to solving delivery issues, your work directly supports reliable postal service for local residents and businesses.
- Sell postal products and services to the public and local business community
- Sort and distribute mail into appropriate classifications accurately and efficiently
- Provide customers with information, required forms, and guidance
- Resolve delivery and service difficulties thoroughly and in a timely manner
- Handle cash transactions and retail sales with accuracy
- Process incoming and outgoing mail in line with Canada Post standards
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for a candidate who is comfortable working with the public, has a solid foundation in retail or service environments, and can handle the physical demands of a postal role. Preference will be given to Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and Persons with disabilities as part of Canada Post’s employment equity initiatives.
- High school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- Customer service experience in a retail or public-facing environment, including sales and cash handling
- Understanding of accounting systems, including general or post office accounting
- Physical fitness to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push/pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
- Bilingual (English and French) — Language requirement: Bilingual Imperative (–BB)
- Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call shifts as required
- Community residency in or near Hornepayne is preferred
