About the Role: Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, checking for and pulling expired medications monthly, writing up returns, ordering drugs and supplies through preferred wholesalers, operating the Telxon gun, and managing interchangeable drug selections
  • Keep the dispensary clean and organized, stocking prescription-filling supplies such as vials, labels, and bags, and maintaining packaging and dispensing equipment, computers, and fax machines
  • Handle clerical and administrative duties, including filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, correspondence, and completing administrative support functions such as journals and accounts receivable
  • Assist with OTC operations, including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager or Pharmacist
