About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, you’ll conduct daily patrols of the store to verify that doors, showcases, and security systems are functioning properly. You’ll investigate incidents related to financial and physical shrink — including internal theft, external theft, and organized retail crime — and communicate your findings clearly to store leadership and, where applicable, to the Market Loss Prevention Manager. You’ll also carry out external apprehensions in compliance with company policies and applicable legal standards.

Beyond security duties, you’ll support store evacuation and emergency procedures, participate in task team responsibilities, and complete additional duties as business needs evolve. Flexibility is key — shifts span mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights, including weekends and holidays. You’ll also manage physical demands such as extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs. (occasionally up to 50 lbs.).

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $19.35 per hour. Responsibilities

The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for a broad range of security, investigation, and store support functions. Every shift contributes directly to a safer shopping environment and reduced shrink — which means your work has a real, measurable impact on the store’s success and the well-being of everyone inside it.

• Conduct daily patrols of the store to maintain a safe and secure environment, verifying that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning properly
• Investigate incidents of financial and physical shrink, including internal theft, external theft, and organized retail crime, communicating findings to store leadership
• Escalate internal investigations to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with Company guidelines and Walmart Canada Global Ethics processes
• Carry out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and applicable legal standards
• Support emergency response procedures, including store evacuations during fire or other incidents
• Gather and communicate information from multiple sources, clearly explaining issues and findings to leadership and relevant stakeholders
• Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations
• Complete additional duties as assigned to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities
