About the Role: Parts Person
As the Automotive Parts Person, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the parts shelves at the UPS automotive shop. Your day-to-day involves stocking and inspecting inventory, tracking parts movements through UPS systems and spreadsheets, and regularly travelling between UPS centres and parts vendors to pick up and deliver components. You’ll work closely with Automotive Technicians and Supervisors to ensure the shop is never short on what it needs.
Accuracy and organization are key in this position. You’ll be expected to keep the parts storage area clean and audit-ready, manage reorder processes proactively, and use tools like Microsoft Excel and Outlook to log and report inventory activities. Whether you’re communicating with vendors in Canada or the US, your attention to detail helps keep UPS’s fleet of delivery trucks, tractors, and trailers on the road.
Benefits and Salary
This position pays $18.15 per hour with weekly pay via direct deposit every Friday. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be managing the full lifecycle of automotive parts inventory — from receiving and stocking to tracking and reordering. Your work directly supports UPS’s fleet maintenance team by making sure technicians have the parts they need, when they need them. Here’s what a typical day looks like:
- Maintain and monitor parts inventory for delivery trucks, tractors, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Coordinate daily with Automotive Technicians, Supervisors, and vendors to fulfill parts needs
- Pick up and deliver parts between UPS centres and vendor locations as needed
- Track and document all parts movements accurately using UPS systems and spreadsheets
- Support procurement processes and maintain proper stock levels by initiating timely reorders
- Keep the parts storage area clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times
- Use Excel, Outlook, and internal computer systems to communicate, log, and report inventory activities
Requirements / Skills
UPS is looking for a candidate who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both a warehouse and office environment. An automotive background is preferred, but what matters most is your ability to stay on top of inventory management, communicate clearly with vendors and internal teams, and handle physical tasks as needed.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record — required for parts runs between locations
- Automotive background in parts is preferred; understanding of automotive systems and parts descriptions is an asset
- Excellent communication skills — comfortable coordinating by phone and email with vendors and partners in Canada and the US
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and web-based or automotive software applications
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse/shop setting
- Previous experience in parts coordination, inventory management, or a related automotive environment is a strong asset
