About the Role: Part-time Package Handler – Preload

As a Preload Package Handler, your main job is to make sure UPS delivery trucks are properly loaded and organized before they head out each morning. You’ll be responsible for scanning, sorting, and loading packages onto the right trucks, following load charts to ensure each parcel ends up in the correct delivery order. You may be loading 2 to 4 trucks simultaneously, so staying organized and focused is essential.

This role takes place inside a UPS warehouse environment where conditions can range from hot to cold, and include dust, dirt, and noise. The ability to lift up to 70 lbs is required. You’ll be expected to follow all UPS package handling procedures and contribute to a safe, efficient preload operation from Monday through Friday.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at $18.00 per hour, with a top rate of pay of $30.11/hour (based on seniority at 48 months). After one year of service, employees receive health, vision, and dental benefits. • Scan packages on UPS vehicles using handheld scanning equipment
• Load packages onto UPS delivery trucks by hand, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Follow load charts to sort and organize packages in the correct order of delivery
• Manage multiple trucks simultaneously — loading 2 to 4 trucks at one time with the right packages on the right vehicles
• Unload packages from UPS trailers as required
• Learn and apply UPS package handling procedures and methods
• Work safely in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, dust, dirt, and noise
• Adapt to flexible start and end times during high-volume peak and holiday seasons

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are physically fit, reliable, and detail-oriented. This role suits individuals who thrive in active, hands-on environments and can keep up with the demands of a high-volume warehouse operation. Prior warehouse experience is an asset, though not mandatory.

• Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs / 32 kgs on a regular basis
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate package sorting
• Flexible availability to work up to 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, on early morning shifts
• Warehouse experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to pass a criminal background record check
