About the Role: Package Handler (Part-Time)
As a Package Handler, your primary focus is moving freight efficiently and safely through the facility. You’ll be loading and unloading shipments, scanning packages, sorting freight by destination, and transporting goods within and between facilities. The role requires someone who can work at a steady pace and maintain accuracy under time pressure.
Beyond the physical side of the job, you’ll be expected to follow FedEx Canada operational standards and be familiar with Canadian Customs regulations (training provided). Responsibilities
Each shift at the Brantford FedEx facility involves a mix of physical freight handling and precise operational tasks. Working accurately and efficiently is essential to keeping packages moving on time and to the right destinations.
- Load and unload freight from trailers and vehicles at the facility
- Scan and sort packages accurately to ensure correct routing and delivery
- Transport freight within and between facilities using appropriate equipment
- Lift packages up to 70 lbs independently and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with equipment
- Complete all required training modules, including basic and recurrency training, to maintain certifications
- Operate in a PC/Windows environment as needed for scanning and tracking tasks
- Adhere to FedEx Canada operational procedures and Canadian Customs regulations
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for a dependable individual who can handle the physical demands of warehouse work while staying organized and on task. A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record are non-negotiable for this position.
- Valid full G driver’s licence with a good driving record (2 or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with proper equipment
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset (not required)
- Ability to complete and pass all mandatory training and maintain required accreditations
- Comfortable working in a PC/Windows environment for operational tasks
