About the Role: Package Handler / Non-Driver

As a Package Handler at FedEx Canada, your primary function is to support the flow of freight through the facility. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of packages, ensuring each item is accurately scanned and sorted before it moves on to the next stage of delivery. This is a physically demanding position that requires both strength and focus.

Working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, you’ll be expected to follow all established procedures and complete required training and recurrency programs. Since this position is located in Quebec, candidates must be bilingual in French and English. FedEx places a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and compliance with Canadian Customs regulations.

Responsibilities

In this role, your work directly supports the movement of thousands of packages through the FedEx Dorval facility each shift. From the moment freight arrives to when it’s sorted and ready for dispatch, your contributions keep the supply chain on track. Here’s what you can expect to be doing:

• Load and unload freight at the facility, ensuring packages are handled with care and efficiency
• Scan packages accurately to maintain up-to-date tracking records throughout the sorting process
• Sort freight by destination, ensuring proper routing to meet delivery timelines
• Lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently, and up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
• Complete all required training, including basic orientation and recurrency programs, maintaining annual accreditations where applicable
• Operate in a PC Windows environment as needed to support tracking and logistics tasks
• Work varying shifts based on business needs and operational demands

Requirements / Skills

The following qualifications are expected:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Bilingual (French and English) required for candidates residing in Quebec
• Physical fitness to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with equipment
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is considered an asset
• Ability to pass mandatory testing and complete all required training programs successfully
