This position is centred on the efficient and courteous pick-up and delivery of packages along a designated route. You’ll be responsible for verifying that all shipments meet Federal Express Canada’s service standards, ensuring proper labelling, and completing all related documentation accurately. You’ll also operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems, so attention to detail and basic tech comfort are a must.

The role also has a customer-facing dimension — you’ll be expected to answer customer inquiries regarding FedEx services, keep clients informed about domestic and international shipping requirements, and flag potential sales leads to the sales department. Depending on the workload at your location, you may also be called upon to assist with aircraft or container loading and unloading, as well as sorting and scanning packages.

Responsibilities

Day to day, this role keeps you active and on the move. From loading your van and planning your route in the morning to scanning the final package of the day, your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of FedEx’s delivery network in the St Alphonse de Granby area.

• Pick up and deliver packages efficiently and safely along an assigned route, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Inspect and select assigned packages accurately and in a timely manner, reporting stop counts and any missorts
• Load the delivery vehicle and plan the daily route using Courier Best Practices to maximize efficiency and ensure the security of FedEx and customer property
• Verify shipments to confirm they meet Federal Express Canada’s service requirements, including proper labelling, accurate paperwork, and adequate supply of shipping materials
• Operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems, ensuring all information entered is correct
• Respond to customer questions regarding FedEx Canada’s features of service, including Canadian, U.S., and international shipping requirements
• Identify sales leads and market changes from existing customers and relay that information to the sales department
• Operate vehicles safely and in compliance with all government regulations and company procedures
• Assist with aircraft or container loading/unloading, sorting, and scanning as required by location and workload

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is comfortable working independently on the road, communicates well with customers, and takes pride in representing a well-known brand professionally. Physical stamina, a clean driving record, and solid people skills are all key to succeeding in this position.

• High school diploma or educational equivalent
• Valid driver’s licence with a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• One year of customer-oriented business experience preferred
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for candidates residing in Quebec
• Some knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset
• Must achieve the minimum threshold on the mandatory pre-placement driver assessment
