About the Role: Package Handler

As a Package Handler at FedEx’s Brantford facility, your primary focus will be on the physical movement of freight. You’ll be loading and unloading packages, scanning and sorting shipments, and transporting freight within and between facilities. The work is hands-on and keeps you active throughout every shift.

You’ll be expected to complete all required training and maintain any certifications relevant to the role. Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight at the facility, ensuring packages are handled properly
• Scan and sort freight accurately to support timely delivery operations
• Transport freight within and between facilities using appropriate equipment
• Maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with the proper equipment; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs independently
• Operate in a PC/Windows environment as required for scanning and tracking systems
• Complete all mandatory training and recurrent certifications to meet FedEx standards
• Drive company vehicles as needed — a valid full driver’s licence with a good driving record is required

Requirements / Skills

FedEx is looking for a reliable, physically capable individual who can work independently during early morning hours. The ideal candidate is punctual, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a structured, physical environment. Reliability and the ability to follow established procedures are key.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid full driver’s licence with a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
• Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• Own transportation to get to the facility is required
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to complete and pass all mandatory testing and recurrent training
